VALERIE HOGAN, PRESIDENT

Valerie Hogan has more than 20 years of experience serving nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and small businesses. She facilitates strategic planning efforts, and provides in-depth assistance focusing on project development, outcome measurement, and process improvement. Ms. Hogan has experience in a variety of fields including organizational development, association management, service delivery, financial management, fundraising, training programs, and retail management.

Prior Business Experience

Before starting her own business, Ms. Hogan was Vice President of a consulting firm that offered strategic management services to nonprofit organizations and small businesses. She served as Vice President of Operations for a start-up software company, and has also managed a retail store.

Ms. Hogan has fifteen years of nonprofit management experience including former positions as Executive Director of the Illinois Alliance for Aging, General Manager of Childs Play Touring Theatre, and Assistant Regional Director of an international environmental organization.

Association and Board Service

Ms. Hogan is a member of the Wisconsin Nonprofits Association, and serves on its Programs and Services Committee. As former President of the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits, Ms. Hogan provided professional development, marketing opportunities and collegiality to more than 100 consultants in the Chicago area. Ms. Hogan also served on United Way's Community Impact Panel, which was responsible for reviewing applications, conducting site visits, and making funding recommendations.

Computer Systems Experience
Ms. Hogan has a strong data processing background. She has evaluated software, managed conversion efforts, implemented computer systems and provided software training for businesses, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. She was also instrumental in the development of five computer learning centers for older adults.

As the former Vice President of Operations for Rosebud Software Systems, Ms. Hogan was responsible for client management, software testing, user documentation, and technical support. She also spent four years as a Management Systems Specialist for the City of Chicago's Office of Budget and Management.
